Breakfast is definitely my favorite meal of the day! A lot of people can get caught up in thinking that eggs are the only source of protein but that is definitely not the case! Today I am bringing you 10 high protein breakfast ideas to help you start your day with a nutritious and filling meal.

I wanted to make this an easy, quick way to find some easy breakfast ideas with my favorite recipes attached!

1. Greek Yogurt Parfait

This was literally one of the top recipes listed in another of my blogs- I just love them so much! Jar of Lemons has a quick and easy recipe to make this parfait that is packed with protein! I personally love mine with berries, high protein granola, and some local honey. *chef’s kiss*

2. Omelet

I mean you really can’t go wrong when there are eggs involved. SkinnyTaste gives you some steps for making a zucchini omelet. I usually add mushrooms and a bit of cheese if I am feeling extra. Use whatever veggies you have in your fridge!

3. Protein Pancakes

I love breakfast carbs- before and after surgery. While I didn’t really incorporate pancakes into the regular breakfast rotation for a few years, I do like them on the days I know I need some extra fast energy. You can make some extras of these and either keep them in the fridge for a few days or freeze them for a future easy meal. Check out Eat the Gains recipe here. I personally prefer to top mine with sugar-free maple syrup.

4. Avocado Toast

Call all my millennial friends- is the stereotype true that we are all eating avocado toast? It is for me… big fan over here.

I LOVE this vegan version from Vancouver With Love. I have made this with chickpeas and white beans before. Love the versatility. Sometimes I’ll do an egg instead, but I always will do Everything But the Bagel seasoning 😉

5. Chia Pudding

Don’t sleep on the chia pudding train! These are so quick and easy to make and last in the fridge for at least a week. While there are so many ways to make these boujee I am a true sucker for vanilla and topped with fresh berries. Real Food Whole Life has the recipe that I use every time!

6. Quinoa Breakfast Bowl

I definitely think quinoa gets forgotten about in the breakfast world, but did you know you can make sweet or savory bowls with quinoa? If you’re looking for a savory quinoa breakfast bowl check out What Molly Made. If the sweet quinoa bowl is speaking to you click to see Emilie Eats’ recipe- it is drool-worthy.

7. Smoked Salmon Toast

I won’t say it, I won’t say it! I won’t say the *versatility* is one of the perks of this recipe (I want to say that about every recipe really). But if you haven’t incorporated smoked salmon as a meal idea- today is your lucky day. While traditional toast is spread with cream cheese, you could easily use ricotta cheese or cottage cheese (the cheese w/ the biggest glow up this year) and you’ll find it is just as delicious. Heavenly Home Cooking has a classic and delicious recipe for you to try!

8. Protein Smoothie

I mean, if I said salmon toast was versatile what is a stronger word to describe the innumerable ingredient combo options that come with the protein smoothie recipe? The Recipe Critic has one of my current favorite recipes that includes blueberries, protein powder, spinach, and almond butter- the perfect combo of nutrients and perfect pre or post workout.

9. Tofu Scramble

If you’re looking for a vegan option for breakfast, then take a look at this recipe from the Broke Bank Vegan. When my partner and I were trying to eat more plant-based this summer, this was one of the recipes that we were very pleased with! We also learned how tasty nutritional yeast is too!

10. Breakfast Burrito

You don’t think I would finish a breakfast blog without mentioning the class breakfast burrito, do you? This recipe from Food by Maria– a game changer. Because before finding this recipe I was just your average Jo Schmo filling her breakfast burrito with eggs and cheese. Y’all- let me put you on to black beans with eggs. Winner!

And there you have it- 10 easy high protein breakfast recipes to start your day off right! I hope you like these easy recipes that are quick and nutritious, but also highly customizable based on what you like.
